A spectacular dismount

Thursday, 9 October, 2008

Yes, dear friends - yours truly went flying off the normally safe-as-houses SPLATT! mountain bike at a more than respectable speed, last Friday morning while heading down to Camden. Arms and legs all over the shop, and all of the said limbs are now sporting the requisite scrapes and bruises to prove it. T'was no more than a first-thing-in-the-morning bleary-eyed wrong decision on my part - no cement mixers or brick walls were involved, thankfully - and all is well now, if a tad on the tender side. It does rather remind one of just what a precarious game this working for yourself lark is, one daft moment, one over-nackered slip, and that's adios, folks............ 'Tis wierd to be reminded that you're not actually indestructible, and all.

All that was my rambling way of apologising to any of the wonderful SPLATT! faithful who came down to see me on the Monday just gone - the 6th. Sorry most sincerely, but everything was giving me far too much grief to be able to carry on for that particular day.

Never fear though, there shall be no surrender from now on - I'm ready and raring to go, and normal service is well and truly resumed from this Friday the 10th of October onwards, and ever onwards.

On your marks..............
